COSMETIC HEIGHT LENGTHENING 2

INTRAMEDULLARY LENGTHENING NAILS

Most people who want lengthening surgery are not satisfied with their body appearance. Body image is the way we perceive ourselves. Whether we are tall or short is related to how many cm we are, as well as how we perceive ourselves according to our body and leg ratio.

Cosmetic limb lengthening is not planned around a target number alone. Body proportions, bone structure, general health, expectations and psychological readiness are assessed together.

The aim of cosmetic lengthening is to lengthen bone gradually while preserving joint motion, muscle strength and daily function as much as possible. The technique is selected individually according to bone structure, deformity, soft tissues and currently available implant options.

INDIVIDUAL SURGICAL PLANNING

Weight-bearing and the lengthening target depend on the implant, bone quality, surgical plan and healing progress. Regular clinical and radiographic follow-up is required throughout treatment.

HOW IS THE LENGTH EXTENSION PROCESS?

Patients considering cosmetic lengthening first undergo a clinical assessment. Standing long-leg radiographs are used to evaluate mechanical alignment, bone lengths and suitable implant dimensions. Implant selection and preparation time vary between patients.

After surgery, walking, weight-bearing, the start of lengthening and follow-up intervals are tailored to the individual plan. Physiotherapy begins early, and bone formation and limb alignment are monitored with regular radiographs.
